The Vermeer Science Center at Central College was the first LEED® certified building in the state of Iowa, achieving Silver by the U.S. Green Building Council. The project features a manifold hood exhaust system, glycol heat recovery, Johnson Controls-Metasys interfacing with Phoenix Celeris I controls, a reflective roof, daylight harvesting, and photovoltaic panels.
