Lil' Drug Office and Wareouse
What we did
- 101,000 ft2
- LEED v.4 Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning
SystemWorks recently completed the LEED v.4 Fundamental and Enhanced commissioning services for the Lil’ Drug Store Products’ new facility. The Lil’ Drug Store Products building is broken into two separate spaces: a warehouse / distribution center and office spaces. The warehouse / distribution center is served by four constant volume rooftop units, which provide heating and cooling to the space, and an energy recovery unit, which provides the ASHRAE 62.1 required ventilation air. The office area consists of an open space that is served by a constant volume rooftop unit and private offices and conference rooms which are served by VAVs with hot water reheat and radiant in-floor heat.
During the pre-design and design phase, SystemWorks assisted in the creation of the Owner’s Project Requirements and performed design reviews of the mechanical and electrical systems. During early construction, SystemWorks reviewed and provided comments on the mechanical equipment and control submittals for review by the design team and contractors. During construction SystemWorks reviewed the mechanical, electrical and controls installation during onsite commissioning site visits to ensure that the systems were being installed per design documents. After the equipment was installed and completed, SystemWorks function tested and verified that the building’s energy-related systems were installed, calibrated and performed according to the control sequences and construction documents.
With the help of the design team and contractors, the Lil’ Drug Store Products project was able to achieve a LEED v.4 Certification, making the facility just the second LEED v.4 project to be certified in the state of Iowa.
